The 6am window from a couple months back didn’t survive the summer. Pushed earlier again — before five, before the heat, before Oscar’s up. The only quiet part of the day.

Premier League. Back for the season.

Saturday mornings have a second appointment again. Coffee, whatever match is on, no real allegiance strong enough to admit yet — still auditioning clubs.


June 4, 2026 · drinking

Evan Williams Black Label. $13. Still.

Thirteen dollars. Every time someone asks what I’m drinking, I tell them the price first. The face they make is the whole point.

3 miles. 6am. Florida summer doing what it does.

Building back to 5 days a week. Currently at 3. Going out at 6am or not at all — by 8 the humidity makes the decision for you.

Age 4 years, 3 months.

Oscar’s current phase: “why” to absolutely everything. Every answer generates a new why. It is exhausting and I am taking notes.
